The Centrality of the Word of God

One of our Covenant Affirmations is "The Centrality of the Word of God". How do we read God's Word and what do we expect from it?

James 5:12-20 "Speak"

James concludes by coming back to the topic of the tongue. Earlier he spoke of it's destructive power. Here he speaks on how to channel the positive power of the tongue.

James gives a stern warning to those who take economic advantage of others. There is spiritual corruption in hoarding riches and material corruption in making gain at the expense of another rather than at the benefit of another. God will one day drag corruption itself into court and the wage paid to corruption will be death.
