Galatians 5:1-15 Give Expression to Your Faith

Paul tells us that life in the Spirit is a life of active love. This is how we live out our faith. It’s not about what we don’t do, but what we do which is motivated by love.

Galatians 3:26-4:7 Sons of God

Galatians 3:1-14 Starting with Grace…Staying with Grace

Paul reminds the Galatians that they began their relationship with Jesus on the basis of faith. Others have come along and attempted to hijack their allegiance by trading in Jesus’ agenda for another. Are they walking in step with the Spirit? The proof would be found in their love, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness and other spiritual fruit. Are we walking in step with the Spirit? One way to tell if we’ve been hijacked by another agenda is the fruit it produces in our lives.

Galatians 2:11-17a A Church full of Hypocrites

This message will speak of Peter giving into prayer pressure and disassociating himself from the Gentiles (a.k.a “sinners). Paul reminds us in this message that we are all sinners, and that no matter how good we get at following rules, we’ll never earn our own salvation. Salvation is a gift of grace that comes through Faith in what Jesus has done. We need to remember our position as sinners who are saved by grace.

Galatians 1:16a -2:10 When to Give In and When Not To

This message continues Paul’s argument for the inclusion of the Gentiles based on faith alone. Paul emphasizes that the Gospel was revealed to him by a divine revelation, checked out with the Apostles, and continues to be an embrace of the true faith. We will focus on how many praised God because of the incredible witness of Paul’s changed life, and the call for us each to hold firmly to the simple Gospel.

Galations 1:13-16a My Previous Way of Life

Galations 1:10-12 Check Your Sources

The Reconciling Community

God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. Proclaiming and practicing reconciliation means extending grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Rather than doing this in our own strength, we learn to allow Christ to forgive through us.

A Conscious Dependence on the Holy Spirit

We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit. The New Testament tells us that the Holy Spirit works both within individuals and among them. We believe it is the Holy Spirit who instills in our hearts a desire to turn to Christ, and who assures us that Christ dwells within us. It is the Holy Spirit who enables our obedience to Christ and conforms us to his image, and it is the Spirit in us that enables us to continue Christ’s mission in the world. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to us as individuals and binds us together as Christ’s body.
